I recently did an episode of Nukeland outdoors, in my driveway and on my lawn. I think it turned out nice, but I would like some feedback on the matter from my photocomic peers.

Discuss possible upsides and downsides to doing future comics in this way. I know a big downside is that in this heatwave, my main character melted between shots. (The clayborg dude)

Nuke,

I like the outdoor stuff. First, it's fresh and different. One of the things unique about PWCs is we can have very detailed backgrounds. Most drawn comics have blank space backgrounds (notable exception Alpha Shade). For very little work, we can have a cool vista. And, this is a visual medium so having more to look at is always good.

I'll eventually have some outdoor stuff when my characters get out of the dungeon. I've identified some cool boulders around town that Maldonado needs to climb!

I look forward to seeing it. Wednesday (Today... well, later today when it isnt so damn hot out) and Friday I will also attempt to shoot outdoors, weather permitting.

Wednesday's is up, I think it turned out even better than Monday's, mainly due to the clouds and such. They dont even seem like toys anymore, the perspective and background makes em seem more 'Human-sized' I think.

I'm sorry I've taken so long in responding to this, but I hadn't read your comic before, and so wasn't sure how to comment. The outdoor photos looked pretty good, and I think worked pretty well since they provided a visual juxtapostion to your regular work. The indoor stuff feels more "four color" than your outdoor shots.

To state the obvious: light in photography makes all the difference.

A change in light source produces huge changes.

I've certainly had alot of fun doing the outdoor comics, but due to erratic weather, I wouldn't be able to do them regularly, though It would be neat to see characters trek through the snow in the winter.
